A home for single mothers and babies is also in Poovarasankulam. These mostly young women – some in their teens – have been subjected to rape or have been taken advantage of by men befriending them. They stay there to have the babies. The babies are adopted under government programs. The mothers live at the home with the babies until the child is adopted.

We have provided for the complete support for this home for a decade. Approximately 20 to 30 mothers and babies reside at any given time.
